One of the oldest civilizations in the world, India is a mosaic of multicultural experiences. Home to approximately 1.2 billion people, India defies easy descriptions. Geographically, the country has everything from deserts and majestic mountain ranges, to jungles, forests, and tropical, palm-fringed coastline, while in between you'll find languages, cuisine, customs, and clothing as diverse as the topography. With a rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Days 1-3: Arrive and transfer to The Glenburn Penthouse in the heart of historic Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) for a 3-night stay with daily breakfast and afternoon tea. The city's first boutique hotel has spectacular views of iconic landmarks - from Victoria Memorial to Eden Gardens, the lush green expanse of the Maidan and the majestic bridges that cross the River Hoogly - and a rooftop pool with panoramic views across the city.  Enjoy a 2-hour private sunset boat cruise in Kolkata.

Day 4: Travel by air* and road to Glenburn Tea Estate in the Darjeeling foothills of the Indian Himalayas. Glenburn is a heavenly little plantation retreat that lies above the banks of the River Rungeet, high in the Himalayas. Started by a Scottish tea company in 1859, Glenburn passed into the hands of one of India’s pioneering tea planting families – The Prakashes. They have over the years come to be known as the “Chaiwala family” which literally means “tea planters”. Today, the third and fourth generation Prakash family carry almost a century of tea knowledge in their inheritance, and you can experience this legacy at Glenburn.

Enjoy a picnic at a scenic spot during the journey from the airport up to the estate. Arrive in the early evening and settle into your suite where you’ll spend 4 nights in the Grand Bengal suite. Enjoy the evening with drinks by the bonfire followed by a four-course dinner with your hosts and other guests in residence. All meals, snacks, and drinks (Glenburn tea, coffee, herbal teas and juices) are included.

Day 5:  Explore the 1,600-acre private estate with an introduction to the specialized art of growing and crafting Glenburn Tea. Visit the tea fields, interact with the tea pickers and follow the journey of "two leaves and bud" into the tea factory, ending with a tea tasting session to discover the incredible variety of flavors and aromas that come from a single bush through the different seasons. Enjoy lunch at the Bungalow followed by a gentle afternoon hike, or take time to relax on one of the peaceful verandas.

Days 6-7: Visit the local primary school and interact with the children during assembly. Take a two hour hike down to the Glenbum Campsite for a barbecue lunch and relax by the River Rangeet.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport of Bagdogra for a coach class flight to New Delhi. Enjoy a 2-night stay at the 5-star Le Meridian New Delhi. Located in the heart of the city, the iconic glass building of Le Meridien New Delhi has been recognized as one of the 100 Icons of New Delhi.

Day 9:  Journey back to the days of India’s Mughal Empire on this private Delhi to Agra tour. Visit two of India's most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Learn how India's most stunning homage to love was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Make a stop at Agra Fort and admire the 16th- and 17th-century architecture of the Mughal monument. This one-day journey includes a private guide, entrance fees, lunch and chauffeur service in a luxury car.

Day 10: Transfer to the airport.
